Thanks for stopping by! While this blog will cover a lot of Young Adult literature, other genres will be covered as well. From children's books to Adult literature to instruction books.
Sometimes I will blog about books in a series.
This first series will be on Young Adult Literature, focusing on books where the main character (s) are or feel trapped. I came up with this idea, because during the years I've felt trapped in all sorts of situations: going to a school I wasn't fond of, not having an idea what I am doing next career wise, social standing, etc. I feel that many people feel this way at times, and it is hard to express. Through reading books, especially YA novels that deal with issues like bullying, family issues, and friends, it becomes easy to discuss these issues when talking about book characters.
As a young woman in the year 2011, there are a lot of stereotypes out there. While I love Nicholas Sparks books, they are not on my nightstand. I reach for socially aware books, or series with multiple layers to them.
The following book series not only exemplifies this, but goes beyond in recommending books that will make you, the reader, more socially aware and observant. You may find yourself associating with some of these texts, which is something that happened to me.
If you have any questions about the books reviewed on this site, please e-mail me at thealyway@gmail.com.
Enjoy!
